FARAMERS SUICIDES
Human beings are unique in two respects. They possess reason and ability to reflect on their actions. Farmers are also trying this.They have some ambitions in their life. What's their ambitions in life? Only fulfill family's demand and basic needs. Family demand means child's good quality education,good cloth,good food, and happily and valued life.
Then question arises from above passage that they wish only basic things in their life. Then,why they are committing suicide? Why they are closing their chapter of life? The cause is very simple , they don't complete their family's basic needs. Therefore they are blaming themselves. this is process they are thinking about this not from 1 or 2 months ago, they were thinking from last 3 or 4 years. It has so many causes,we will try to discuss this .
LIMITED RESOURCES AND POPULATION :we have limited resources like land . In 10 or 20 years ago we have land near about 5 or 6 hectares land. But today's condition is very different now we have only 1 or 2 hectares land. Dependency on land is rising .
INPUT RATES ARE HIGH AS COMPARED TO OUTPUT: we will take one e.g. some farmers have 2 hectare land . Then in snowing period they purchased seeds, pesticide and so on. Near about 20,000Rs and transportation charges. After some days later rain came . Then they snow their seeds on farm. Then after some times you have to do something more than this that's spraying, vweeding, harvesting, transportation,Labour charges,aadat,in this land holder doesnot included thire working days, their charges on their farm spending . We got basic idea how much they are spending on their filed.exactly not but near about 40,000Rs or more than. When he sold his crop in market he goted less than msp price. That's the main problem of agriculture . per acre production is 8 quintal 2500/2200 Rs then how much they earned? as we wrote in above they spended money in their filed near about 40,000Rs . The main problem is that they have taken this money from moneylenders. Then calculate how much they earn ? this process is same for every season .
DROUGHT AND CLIMATE CHANGE:
We can't imagine if monsoon will low then what should be happen? what's the situation of farmers? now days we have been seen what's happening in drought prone areas. Sixty eight years after independence farmers suicide rates day by day are rising. we are not able to provide them sufficient water.
EFFECT OF CAPITALISATION ON FARMERS: Remunerative prices in liberalized and globalised economy are decided mainly by demand and supply.
However in reality this is not happening at farmers level even supply are low, farmers are not.getting good price and prices are high farmer is not benefiting take the case of onions . Prices are high but the farmer is not getting good price but gov has to ensure that even in situation of glut as is the case currently with sugar, cotton,soya bean, tur and some other crops do not fall bellow the cost of production.
ASPIRATION OF LIFE: We have seen above what are the causes of farmers may be more than this .but social pundits expressed their views on this issue they blamed rising lifestyle aspiration. Is it aspiration if he wants valued life for this family. Is it aspiration of life if he wants to take admission of child in good school .how social pundits thinks like this,.ridiculous.
